DESTINO-2006
Each of us has our DESTINTY. Thus, the musical, DESTINO, was born. In collaboration with composer, Daniel Hendrick, two years of hard work has ended. Or is it just beginning? I realized when I wrote the book for our musical eventually I would have to cut the unnecessary dialogue for the music must now take precedence. I believe we created a truthful portrait of what happens along the USA-Mexican border. We hope you think so as well. Daniel Hendrick was wonderful to work with as was his gifted wife, Pilar Montano, who still laughs at my New York accented Spanish! Pilar is a gifted artist and she shall translate DESTINO from English to Spanish. Pilar's web site is...http://pilarpaintings.com/.
What can I say about Daniel? A beautiful, talented, creative and warm human being. Take a glimpse of his talent on...http://danielhendrick.com/. And order his CD and listen to music personified!
Finally there is the lovely Wanda who spent hours and hours editing and revising the script. She was and is a sounding board for all our efforts. Word for word she was there. Did I mention Wanda is my wife of 33 years? I love you Wanda.
Below you will find a synopsis of DESTINO. If you wish to be notified of any performance of DESTINO you may contact me, Jack, at...Jeshea5050@aol.com. Or you may contact Daniel at...daniel.hendrick@netzero.net. Copyright-Jack Shea&Daniel Hendrick. Hope you enjoy our efforts.

Synopsis for “Destino”
You pursue a dream. To the north you envision opportunity. Between you and your utopia; the mountains. You and your wife throw caution aside in your quest to seek your Destino. But things go awry. The weather becomes your tormentor. The ‘coyote’ (smuggler) you hire to lead you across las montañas turns upon you. He beats you and takes what little money you and your wife have saved. You should have never brought her, your wife, to this country. She is pregnant and the baby pushes its way into life before its time, and there you are, cold upon the mountain. You and she can gaze across the valley. You can see the house with the beautiful light. Some day, you say to her, we shall have such a home. We will be as happy as the people in the hacienda where the light glows as if a beacon of freedom. Your son or your daughter will be born in Estados Unidos. The baby will never be beaten by ‘coyotes’. It will never hide in the manzanitas from the American Border Patrol Agents. Someday you will bring your child back to your village. After Sunday Mass, you will go to the plaza and say to your friends and relatives, “This is our child who was born in the Norte...meet our son Jesus. And sí, sí, we have found our DESTINO!”

After
Jack's play reading in Paris of LA TABLE in November of 2002 Jacques
and Michele Poletti of the Giens Peninsula in the South of France
graciously offered to translate LA TABLE to French. Jacques is a
retired French Professor and Michele a retired Doctor. They spent
many unselfish hours to make this project a reality in the hopes
of a future production in Paris. Jack and Wanda are forever grateful
for their friendship and the love they have put into LA TABLE. The
first scene in French can now be viewed in the plays section of

Jack and Wanda
Shea acted as Executive Producers for his son, John-Ryan's, Independent
film, THE REAL McCOY. At the last minute Jack was asked to play
a role in the film as the actor scheduled to play the role dropped
out at the last minute. The character Jack was asked to play was...The
Lone Drunk. According to Jack this took no acting at all and he
believes he was type cast! And he is extremely proud of his son.
